Now, having said all that, we suspect you will AE less often in Cataclysm. You’ll CC more and you’ll burn targets down one at a time more often. But that just means all classes will do less damge with AEs.
I know many folks who will be overjoyed with this. Many of my friends have mourned the loss of CC. This becomes definitely interesting in the age of the Dungeon Finder. By implementing CC style fights, you basically make fights less puggable while encouraging pugs. Maybe they expect folks to step up to the challenge and teach others. Maybe they’ll go all Oculus and give extra incentive for not abandoning the roughest dungeons. This little snippit here has me very intrigued, encouraging pugs but upping the difficulty. Where is their vision going with this?
